How Does sofaguards.com Work?

Sofaguards claims to sell high-quality products at very cheap rates in their online store, but should you trust them?

They’ve generously slashed the prices of most products in their store, selling their items for prices that are too good to be ignored.

Nonetheless, using nice deals to bait unsuspecting buyers is common among scam online stores. And those who eventually fall for it and go on to make orders end up getting scammed; they either receive products of inferior quality or nothing at all.

Also, sofaguards.com uses a convincing website layout, giving it a trustworthy outlook. But this should not deceive you into believing Sofaguards is legit because most of these scam online stores go the extra mile to appear trustworthy.

Sofaguards accepts payments made through credit/debit cards and PayPal.

What We Found About Sofaguards!

One of the advantages of the internet age is the ease with which we do things. One could, by clicking a few links on a laptop or a smartphone, purchase items from the comfort of their homes. But its downside is this: because the sellers are invisible, they could easily be scammers.

We have taken the responsibility to carry out reviews on sites like Sofaguards and expose their fraudulent schemes.

One of the things we noticed about Sofaguards is that no positive reviews have been made about them. Usually, authentic positive reviews are a sign that an online store is reliable.

Their website uses HTTPS security – this means that information like passwords and credit card numbers, when sent to their site, is kept private. But this is not an assurance that the people behind the platform won’t tamper with your details.

The other things we found about Sofaguards that made us believe sofaguards.com is a scam online store are:

REACHABILITY

They have no social media presence. Trustworthy stores use social media as a means to advertise their wares and also connect to their customers. They even listen to and resolve customers’ complaints through their social media handles. Most scam stores refrain from having social media accounts because a victim of their fraud can easily tag and expose them there, warning away other prospective buyers.

The contact information provided on their website is not reliable: customers complained of receiving no response.

Due to the anonymity of the owners of the store, there is zero accountability, and no one to charge should you be scammed. The absence of a real face to account for the operations of the store is a big red flag.

REVIEWS

The products sampled on sofaguards.com have no customer reviews. Reliable online stores like Amazon usually carry mixed customer reviews, both positive and negative, on the products sampled on their store.

When we scanned their site on ScamDoc (a website analysis platform), it returned a very bad trust score of 1%. This means that their site can’t be trusted because no identifying information of the owner is tied to the domain name.

CONTENT

The contents used on their web pages were copied from other sources. We’ve encountered both their website template and content in other fraudulent stores.

TRACKER

There is no reliable tracking system available on their website to monitor the progress of the ordered products.

A customer wrote this on ScamDoc:

“Fraudulent website.”

Another wrote this TrustPilot:

“Terrible company. The covers did not fit at all. I returned them within the 30 days, using the shipping label they provided and I have yet to receive a refund despite numerous emails to them. DO NOT use this company. This is a huge scam and they just want your money!”

Verdict!

Sofaguards.com, like Lacasha, is an untrustworthy online store. Therefore, we do not recommend that you shop here. If you shop from them, you stand the risk of losing your money but getting no product in return.

There are many untrustworthy online stores on the internet promising to sell top-notch products but at heavily discounted rates.

It is common to come across these e-commerce stores offering good-looking products at appetizing prices. But, in the end, such stores usually turn out to be fraudulent.

Most people attracted by these “too good to be true” prices from these online stores have bought goods of their liking but received something different from what they had ordered, and of poor quality.

Worse, some have placed orders with full payment yet received nothing but silence from the online vendors. You do not have to become one of them to learn from their experience.

It is unfair to fall victim to these fraudsters and lose the money you earned from honest work. Fact-checking should be a priority before you buy anything from an online vendor.

If you’ve shopped from this store or attempted to do so, kindly share your experience with us in the comment section.

  1. First off – bad product, doesn’t fit, very thin, doesn’t cover the entirety of my couches. Tried to return the product. The website states company accepts returns within 30 days. I started the return process on 3/18 – it is currently 4/6 and the company will still not send me information regarding how to return the items. Same like other people, I have been offered multiple partial refunds in many days of email back and forth. I have now requested to return the items 7 times and complied with all of their “policies,” including sending photos of how the item doesn’t fit. Here’s a breakdown of how our email exchange over the last 2.5 weeks:
3/18 – original return request submitted
3/19 – SG reply: check fit guide
    3/19 – return requested
3/21 – SG reply: send photo
3/21 – out of town, will send when in town
3/30 – back in town, pictures submitted
3/31 – SG reply: send order number
    3/31 – order number sent
3/31 – SG reply: offered 25% partial refund
4/1 – return requested, no reply
    4/4 – return again requested
4/5 – SG reply: offered 35% partial refund
    4/5 – return requested
4/5 – SG reply: offered 50% partial refund
4/5 – return requested or would accept 70% partial refund as this is how much shipping would cost
4/6 – SG reply: cannot do 70%, how would you like to proceed
    4/6 – return requested

    1. I had this identical experience. I ended up lodging a charge back through my credit card and they challenged it. I had to respond to their lies including “customer never returned item” and “customer did not comply with policies and processes”. It took hours of my life but I was not letting them win. Hopefully their bank shuts them down. Stev

  2. Garbage company and 100% fraudulent. Purchased a product and the color was incorrect. They denied refund (even within 30 days and with their “guarantee” ) since their color ivory “encompasses a range of different shades and tones.”
Looks like it was registered through the UK and ships from China so not much to reconcile. Just avoid them.

  3. Well, if SofaGuards.com is not a legit store, I would like to know where the slipcovers I just bought came from!

I ordered a sofa and chair cover, which arrived in about 10 days. I am 100% satisfied with the quality, fit, and overall look if the slipcovers.
