How It Works
The receivers of this PayPal Activation email are prompted to, in order to update their account details, click a link contained in the email. But should you click on this link? Our answer is No. Clicking on the link could lead to malicious sites where the victim’s data would be harvested using hacking tools. And with access to the victim’s personal information, they could use it for fraudulent activities while posing as the victim. Sometimes, the link leads to a fake PayPal site, where users are asked to update their credit card details. These details are then used by the fraudsters to gain access to the victim’s money.
