How Jana Sanderson become popular
Jana Anderson first entered a pageant at 17. She attended Glencoe High School. While studying communications at Samford University, she contested in the 2000 Miss Alabama beauty pageant and was declared the winner. The following year, she participated in the beauty contest and was among the top 10 finalists.
After graduating from the university, Jana became a successful photographer, marketing specialist with the Gadsden Chamber of Commerce, Joe McEachern Photography and a level 3 certified CrossFit coach. She loved travelling and was a great cook who loved cooking challenges. Jana also worked with the School of Aviation at Auburn University. She was the co-creator of J&D Farms, a wedding and event venue.
What led to Jana Sanderson’s death
Jane Sanderson died of cancer. J&D Farms broke the news of her death on Facebook in a post which reads: “It is with the absolute heaviest of hearts that we tragically say goodbye to our namesake,” going on to say about the beauty queen that she “graciously made hundreds of couples feel at home on the biggest day of their life. She bravely took on cancer with grace and dignity that only Jana could.”
Tributes to Jana Sanderson
J&D Farms continues to roll out tributes in praise of Jana’s unique personality saying that “Each week of her infusion she would make care packages for all of her infusion nurses. She did so even on the weeks where it became a struggle to stand or feel her fingers because of the effects of the chemotherapy.
She would pick out special gifts for each nurse and spend hours wrapping each one. She never once complained about the lasting effects of her neuropathy caused by this.” They also revealed.
The Miss Alabama Competition also took to Facebook to share its condolences and kind words about Jana Sanderson saying that she was a highly talented, intelligent, sweet, and kind soul who brought warmth into every room and charmed everyone she met. “We are blessed to have known Jana and to have her represent our state as Miss Alabama.” The organization said.
In a Facebook post, Theatre of Gadsden also noted that the late beauty queen was a kind and gentle soul with so much talent.
Jana’s obituary funeral services will take place at College Heights Baptist Church, followed by a visitation and a memorial service.
